ROM DS: What It Is And What To Do With It
Written by Dino Solar on October 10, 2009 – 11:31 -As everybody knows, rom stands for read only memory. Along with its twin, ram, rom has been around as long as computers have been. Rom often gets second billing after its bigger, tougher brother, who seemed to get all the good genes while poor little rom is nothing but a program that can be used by ram (random access memory) with ease. The truth is, though, that each one of them is useless without the other. For those who love games, rom ds, a rom that can stores Nintendo DS games is the real champion. Big hefty ram is just a tool to make the rom ds run on the computer. And ram needs some help to do that, too, in the form of an emulator.
Every substantially different operating system needs something to allow it to read files from another operating system. This is what the emulator does. Before you can play your rom ds, you need to first download an emulator and install it. Then and only then will your computer have the necessary “smarts” to read your next download, the rom ds.

There is not just one rom ds – there are as many as there are games and versions of games. Thousands of them are available for download and many of these can be downloaded at no charge. A different emu (that’s emulator, not the Australian bird) is not necessary for every game you download. Usually one is more than enough and if you look around, you can get emu’s that allow you to play both Nintendo and Gameboy games.
rom ds’s usually download fairly quickly. More often than not they come as Winrar compressed files to keep the download time to a minimum. After you have opened your zipped file, you will be presented with a bewildering list of files. The most important one of these has the suffix .nds attached to it. If you are at all confused, go back to the site where you downloaded the rom ds from. Usually you can find detailed instructions on the best way to get your game to work. If you do it by trial and error, you probably won’t destroy your computer, but you will almost certainly be faced with hours of frustration before you stumble across the one little thing you’ve done wrong!
That’s the rom ds in a thousand words or less. Download and enjoy!

Why unlock Wii with Homebreware?

- It wil also enable your Wii to playback DVD movies and MP3 music.
- Unlock Wii so you are able to play imported, region locked Wii games.
- Homebreware makes it possible to play backup games, without the need for a MOD chip or anything else that might damage or void the warranty of your Wii.
- By unlocking your Wii with HomebreWare you will open up the world of retro game play. Play classic games from retro game consoles like N64, NES, SNES, Sega, etc..
- By using the HomebreWare bundle you will get access to over 2000 free games for Wii.
What is HomebreWare?
First of all HomebreWare is an application and guide in one, it will unlock Wii in order to make it run games and application that were not originally made for Wii (aka as homebrew). Secondly it will also allow you to play backup Wii games, this means you can now play copied Wii games.
Why use HomebreWare and not a MOD chip?
First of all, you will not void your warranty. If you fit your Nintendo Wii with a MOD chip, in order to play the latest homebrew and backup Wii games you will have to open up your Wii and risk voiding your warranty. Secondly, it is way much cheaper then fitting your Wii with the latest MOD chip. If you want to bring your Nintendo Wii back to it’s original state it came in, just uninstall the HomebreWare software.
